My Writing Style - How It’s Probably A Horrible Way to Do It, But I’m Not a Professional.

In this blog post I cover what apps and devices I use to write on my multiple blog sites. I cover a little bit of my workflow for staying productive.

I’m not supposed to be writing this.
I got a concussion this morning after eating shit in a parking lot, and my doctor’s official recommendation was “no screens, no thinking, no being me.”

Unfortunately, it’s 2025 and resting without staring at a screen is just staring at a wall until you spiral.
The good news is that if I’m going to ignore medical advice, I might as well do it productively and write about writing.

The real point of this article is to pass the time and entertain myself and maybe you as well, if you read it all.

What I Write About.

It depends on the day, but most of my writing is just me putting the absurd things that happen in my life into words for everyone's entertainment. My life is a hot mess that would drive a normal person to insanity. Other times I write about things that I hate, or maybe I'm just bored and want to rant about something. Honestly, you figure it out when you read it.

What I Write With.

Basically I write with anything I have available with a screen, keyboard, and an internet connection. Usually its my iphone or ipad, occasionally, my laptop if I'm at home or work. I try to write things down when they come into my head, so that means I could be anywhere. I travel around a lot so that could be in a hotel, an airport, or even while I'm driving down the interstate. My best work comes to me quickly and without any second thought. If I have to concentrate on what I want to write it comes out even shittier than my "good" stuff.

Apps

I'm using StandardNotes right now as my writing app. I was using Bear but they only want to play nice with iOS and that's fucking dumb, I cant afford a macbook. this app syncs across all of my devices, even my shitty old linux laptop. Plus its all encrypted so my secrets are safe until I decide to post them for everyone to read.

What Was the Point of This Article?

There wasn’t really a point to this. Is there ever?

I wrote it. You read it. We both survived.

Writing with a concussion is weird because you forget what you were doing every thirty seconds, which feels like a decent metaphor for this blog in general.

I’m going to make some more questionable decisions now and see how beer interacts with a head injury. See you next time.
